Trinity Missions is seeking a Social Media & Digital Content Intern to join our Development & Communications team. This internship is ideal for a creative, motivated student who wants hands-on experience creating content for Instagram and Facebook, with a particular focus on short-form video (Reels) and visual storytelling.
The intern will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications and will contribute directly to real campaigns, appeals, and mission storytelling. This role offers mentorship, portfolio-building opportunities, and exposure to nonprofit communications and fundraising.
What You’ll Do
Social Media & Digital Storytelling (Primary Focus)
• Assist in creating short-form video content (Reels) for Instagram and Facebook
• Help brainstorm content ideas that increase engagement and reach
• Assist with filming, basic editing, caption writing, and posting
• Adapt longer stories, campaigns, or events into social-friendly formats
• Schedule and monitor posts across platforms
• Support content creation during special events, liturgical seasons, and campaigns
(Professional-level video experience is not required — curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn are.)
Communications & Marketing:
• Draft and edit captions, short blog posts, and digital updates
• Create simple graphics using Canva or similar tools
• Assist with content planning tied to fundraising appeals and special initiatives
• Proofread and quality-check donor-facing materials
Fundraising & Donor Engagement (Secondary):
• Support donor stewardship content such as thank-you emails and impact updates
• Assist with light research on nonprofit digital trends or peer organizations
Administrative & Team Support:
• Provide limited administrative and data support to the Development team as needed

Required: Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Communications, Marketing, English, Media Studies, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred) • Strong written communication skills • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively • Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook • Interest in nonprofit work and social impact • Openness to learning about Catholic values and mission-driven organizations
Preferred: Experience creating social media content (personal, academic, or organizational) • Interest in short-form video and visual storytelling • Basic familiarity with video or design tools (Instagram editor, CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express, etc.) • Comfort filming content or being behind the camera (on-camera appearance is a plus, not required) • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
