Katy has worked in the nonprofit industry for the majority of her career, within nonprofit organizations and agency environments. Katy has also founded two businesses, a nonprofit, EMP Collective, and more recently, Katy Jordan Consulting, LLC. A lifelong musician, holding a B.A. in Music Composition, Katy began her career journey working for the Baltimore Opera Company in 2005. Katy helped the organization expand into online ticket sales, fundraising, and communications. During her tenure, Katy pursued her MBA in Marketing at University of Baltimore.

A few years later, Katy moved agency-side as a digital account executive at CDR Fundraising Group. Within 18 months of joining CDR Fundraising Group, Katy was promoted to Director of Digital and profitably grew the team from four associates to more than 20 staff within three years. The digital team Katy built was the footprint for the digital services across the Moore Enterprise. During her tenure at CDR, Katy also led the DRTV division as the agency was expanded those services, working with clients including DAV, Shriners Hospitals, the AARP Foundation, and Christian Appalachian Project. During this time of fast-paced growth and staff expansion, Katy found her true calling—developing emerging talent, change management, and creating positive organizational cultures.

Katy also began to expand her presence in the direct marketing industry and hone her leadership skills with her teams at CDR. She joined the board of the DMAW EF and participated as a judge in the Collegiate MAXIs and assisted with career panels for the annual Professors’ Institute. She has been a regular presenter and content contributor for various events and conferences hosted by DMAW, ANA Nonprofit Federation, AFP, NTEN, Georgetown University. Katy was awarded the DMAW Rising Star Award in 2016, acted as Education co-chair for the Bridge conference in 2020, and co-curated the Professional Development track with TNPA in 2023.

Since 2018, Katy held leadership roles at PMX Agency (now Assembly Global) and TrueSense Marketing. In both roles, she has transformed the agencies’ approach to nonprofit digital marketing, increasing agency revenue, building high-functioning teams, and developing talent across the organizations. Katy thrives on helping individuals and organizations achieve their potential, navigate change, and be the best version of themselves. Katy is in the process of achieving her individual and organizational coaching certifications through the International Coaching Federation, with more than 200 hours of coursework and a growing portfolio of coaching clients.
