Becoming Technical: Part 1

In Part 1,  we explore concepts like the cloud, data lakes, and machine learning to ground our understanding in definitions and applications that apply to non-technical areas of focus. We provide a foundation from which you can make more informed decisions.

Presenters:

Rich Kostro, Chief Information Officer at Share Our Strength, is a technology and data strategy expert with almost 20 years of experience in leading change in large organizations. Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Rich served as a Director under the Chief Information Security Officer at Capital One, where he led multiple efforts in implementing strategic initiatives, improving budget management, and building talent pipelines.

Kelley Hecht is Team Lead, Industry Advisors – Nonprofits at Amazon Web Services. Prior to joining AWS, Kelley spent 11 years at Pursuant, using internal and external data sets to distill insights,  drive innovation, and continually improve the outcomes for nonprofit clients.  Kelley also spent 7 years working in nonprofit organizations, including American Cancer Society and Avon Foundation for Women.

Becoming Technical: Part 2

In Part 2 we explore more sophisticated applications of cloud technology being used by today’s nonprofit leaders and provide a framework to assess which tools make the most sense for your organization, what are the hurdles, how to get buy-in from decision-makers, and why to stay the course.

Tina Starkey is Chief Growth Officer at Stop Soldier Suicide, where she leads marketing and development. Prior to joining SSS, she built development and marketing teams as a technology trainer, a digital marketing leader, and a brand marketing speaker.
