Joyprada Swain Baker

Vice President, Membership

Joyprada “Joy” Swain Baker leads membership strategy, recruitment, and engagement for The Nonprofit Alliance. In this role, Joy is responsible for growing TNPA’s robust membership and delivering value to existing members. Previously, Joy served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she developed strategies to broaden membership, deepened member engagement, and led a team of twelve corporate researchers and policy analysts. Prior to joining the Chamber, Joy worked at VOX Global, running strategic communications campaigns for Fortune 500 clients. She also previously served as a communications consultant for the Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate, as well as FEMA’s Individual and Community Preparedness Division. Joy started her career in the legislative branch, first as a staff assistant to former Congressman Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania and then as a research associate for the Congressional Research Service, analyzing defense acquisition policy. Joy received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University and her Master of Science in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. She resides in Falls Church City with her husband, two young children, and beloved beagle.
